The short version: Twaf does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information to us or to anyone else. There are no accounts, no servers, and no analytics. Everything the app remembers — including private notes like your confession preparation and the names attached to lit twafs — stays only on your own device.
We don't collect any information. Twaf has no backend server of any kind, so there is nowhere for your information to be sent, and no database where it could be stored by us. Nothing you do inside the app — reading a prayer, checking a fasting date, browsing Scripture — is transmitted anywhere.
The app saves information locally, directly on your phone, so that your preferences, private notes, and personal records are remembered the next time you open it. This never leaves your device, is never sent to us, and we have no way to access it, view it, or collect it — because there is no server for it to be sent to. Specifically, this includes:
Two features store more personal content, and we want to be especially clear about them: the private notes you write in the Confession Prep Scratchpad, and the names or intentions you enter when lighting a twaf. Both are stored only in your device's local storage, exactly like everything else on this page — never transmitted, never visible to us, never backed up to any server we control. If you delete the app, this content is permanently gone with it.
The Church Finder feature can optionally use your device's location to help sort nearby congregations by distance. This only happens if you tap "Use My Location" — it is never requested automatically. Your location is used briefly, on your device, to calculate distances against a fixed, built-in list of churches, and is not stored, saved, or transmitted anywhere.
If you enable reminders, they are scheduled directly on your device to notify you before a fasting period begins. This scheduling happens entirely on-device — no notification content or schedule is ever sent to or stored on any server.
Twaf does not require or offer account creation, does not use any analytics or tracking tools, does not include advertising, and does not share any information with third parties — because it collects none to share.
Twaf does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, since it does not collect information from anyone at all.
If this policy ever changes — for example, if a future version of the app adds a feature that does involve data collection — this page will be updated, and the "last updated" date above will reflect that change.
