Twaf requires no account and has no advertising. Private notes, confession preparation, and names or intentions attached to lit twafs remain on your device. Version 1.0.7 introduces optional usage analytics, sent only after you allow it.
When you choose Allow or enable Help improve Twaf in Settings, Twaf sends app openings, section visits, Sunday-reading opens, and settings opens to PostHog US Cloud to understand usage and improve the app. Events include the current and previous app section, interface language, web/iOS platform, app version, and development/production environment. A random identifier groups events during that app load; it changes on reload and is not linked to an account or persistent device identifier.
We do not send private notes, confession text, prayer history, names or intentions, typed searches, recordings, contacts, or precise location to analytics. There is no session recording, automatic screen capture, advertising identifier, or cross-app advertising tracking. GeoIP enrichment is disabled. Like other network services, PostHog receives the request's IP address; the app does not attach an IP-address property.
No analytics is sent before consent. Not now keeps analytics off. You can withdraw consent in More → Settings → Help improve Twaf at any time. Disabling it stops future events but does not delete events already sent. Browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals also suppress analytics. Analytics events are retained for up to one year under the current PostHog project plan. Contact us for data questions or deletion requests; because we do not link events to your identity, we may be unable to identify which events are yours.
PostHog processes analytics in its US Cloud service. See PostHog's privacy policy for its processing and safeguards.
Twaf stores preferences, bookmarks, welcome-screen status, prayer completion, notification choices, fasting-observance settings, saved event dates, and your analytics choice locally. Private confession-preparation notes and twaf names or intentions are not sent to us. Device or operating-system backup settings may affect local data backups. Removing app data removes these local records.
Fetching updated Sunday readings requires a network connection to the readings service. Network providers receive technical request information, including an IP address, needed to deliver the response and may maintain operational logs. Private notes are not included. External links open third-party services governed by their own privacy policies.
Church Finder can use location when you tap Use My Location to calculate distances to churches on your device. Precise location is not included in analytics.
Enabled reminders are scheduled on your device. Notification contents and schedules are not sent to analytics.
Analytics is optional. Parents and guardians can leave it disabled for children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information that needs attention. Twaf Kids is not included in version 1.0.7.
